Danielle French is a nomadic singer/songwriter based out of Calgary, Alberta. Her 4th CD DRIVE is a collection of driving, freedom and heartache songs inspired by my many years spent on the road touring throughout North America (in 2012 and 2013 she toured 6 months of the year, mostly in the United States). DRIVE received radio play on campus, public and CBC radio across Canada and was listed at #5 in the “Best Local Bets of 2012” in the Reno Gazette Journal (DRIVE was recorded in Reno).

In her 15+ years as a recording artist and performer, she has worked with an impressive list of musicians such as Burton Cummings, Matthew Good, and Martin Tielli (Rheostatics), to name a few, who have collaborated with on her albums.

She is currently putting together her first band project to be called Miss Scarlett and the Madmen- consisting of a group of musicians she has been collaborating with at the Holiday Music Motel in Sturgeon Bay, Wisconsin ( In 2012, she was invited by pat mAcdonald (Grammy-nominated songwriter, formerly of the band Timbuk3- he wrote “The Future’s So Bright I Gotta Wear Shades”) to attend a series of week-long writing intensives where dozens of songwriters of varying genres gather to co-write, perform and record together in the on-site recording studio. The Holiday Music Motel is co-owned in part by pat mAcdonald, Jackson Browne, Steve Hamilton (of Making Sausage Music in Milwaukee, WI) and others, and is a fully operational motel in the heart of downtown Sturgeon Bay.
