Lyrics

Black as this night without you

Black like my lover’s hair

Black like a raven at midnight

Black I can’t find you here

Deep like our love undying

Deep like an endless kiss

Deep as an ocean fathom

Deep the parting of your lips

Cold as this steel blue morning

Cold as a the church bells tolling

Cold as this truth unfolding

Cold as your skin to my touch

Sweet as I kiss your forehead

Sweet as I whisper softly

Sweet like the tears I cry

As I say the last goodbye

Lyrics

Razor’s edge and little deaths

Are bleeding into one

In the dark we found our spark

Our shadows become one

Chorus

Break my heart

Or take my love

Break my heart

Or take my love

Comets tails all stars aligned

The future has begun

Together walking backwards

As we stare into the sun

Chorus

Bridge

If you’re going to break my heart

Then go on and do your stuff

But if you’re in for real then

Go on and take my love

Sticks and stones and broken bones

Are all likely outcomes

Baby’s breath and dragon’s tails

The circle’s come undone

Chorus

Lyrics

I asked for love

You only gave me money

I sought the warmth

But all you had was coal

I thought our song was never-ending

Chorus:

Did you want me

Did you want me

For a moment did you want me

Did you want me

Did you want me

I asked for time

You only gave me seconds

I set the mood

But you were all a-rush

You drew me in like a sailor to a siren

Chorus:

Did you want me

Did you want me

At all

The fire went up before I heard the warning

Though our love was

 Really burning

Our house went up in flames

Before the night turned into morning

We were smoldering remains

Did you want me

Did you want me

For a moment did you want me

Did you want me

Did you want me

Was I ever the apple of your eye

Was I ever the stars in your sky

Was I ever the icing on your cake

Or was this just a big mistake

Chorus

Lyrics

Sunflowers bring any room to life

Their petals turn to the sun

But if you want to make me your wife

Bring me roses, it must be roses

Roses, roses

Only roses will do

If you really love me

You’ll bring me roses, it must be roses

Tulips are bright and cheerful

Perfect for mother’s day

But only roses will do my love

If my father is to give me away

Chorus:

Roses, roses

Only roses will do

If you really love me

You’ll bring me roses, it must be roses

Lillies are fine for you mothers grave

Respectful honest and true

But if you want to show me your love

Only roses will do

Chorus

A daisy-chain for our flower girl

Carnation on your lapel

Irises for the bridesmaids

These are all fine and well

But I’ll carry

Chorus

Once we’re married, and you’re my groom

I’ll live with you til I die

When I die you’ll fill my room

With roses, only roses

Chorus

If you really love me

You’ll bring me roses, it must be roses

Lyrics

Looking around at every face in the crowd

Wondering if he is following me now

Don’t know why and I don’t know how

He knows where I am when I’m out on town

My shadow, my shadow and me

My shadow, my shadow and me

I duck into alleys get lost in the crowd

Change my name so I can’t be found

Hold my breath and wait for him to leave

When I inhale he is right behind me

My shadow, my shadow and me

My shadow, my shadow and me

I can’t shake this sense of danger

Wondering who’s this faceless stranger

He speaks in riddles he speaks in rhymes

Of the ways he’ll commit his crime

With a hangman’s noose and a devil’s tail

Seal my coffin with a golden nail

My shadow, my shadow and me

My shadow, my shadow and me

My shadow, my shadow and me

My shadow, my shadow and me

Lyrics

London bridge is falling down

And none of us can swim

The politicians lie to us

To the moon and back again

I can’t take it anymore

It makes you stop and think

The whole wide world is going to hell

So this is why I drink

Children in the sandbox

We teach them to play nice

While we send missiles overseas

We are not men but mice

All of this hypocrisy

Well whose shit doesn’t stink

We’re all liars thieves and fools

And this is why I drink

What’s the matter, what’s the use?

Why bother even try

When corporations run the world

While starving children die

Just to think our meager lives

Are over in a wink

We contemplate mortality

And this is why we drink
